It’s bad news for tardy book lovers in Limerick this week as head librarian Damien Brady has announced the implementation of a new system to keep records and fine library members over missing books.
The fines will be a part of a nationwide library management system which is being implemented all over the country. There may be up to 3 euro per item fined and 5c per day for overdue items.
Benefits of the system are that libraries can share resources. There will be a greater range of items available for users.
