The Shannon Airport Cycling Club 110km Cycle started off on Saturday the 23rd of July at the region’s largest airport. Several hundred cyclists were expected to attend the cycle which will see cyclists travel up to Gort and back in aid of the airports two main charities of the year including ICAN- The Irish Children’s Arthiritis Network and Abalta Special Abilities School.
The cycle was sponsored by Aer Lingus in 2016 and there was a draw for tickets to Boston on the carrier as part of the regsitration process. If you see the cyclists on the road to Galway today be sure to give them a toot or a few bob if you get the chance.
There was also static cyclers cycling and raising money inside the terminal for the same charities including the Clare Rose.
