A two and a half year old local boy is fighting for life in University Hospital Limerick following a tragic accident on Saturday 2nd July. The little boy fell from the 6th floor of Limerick’ Strand Hotel onto Clancys Strand at 1pm. It is understood he fell from the balcony area after getting seperated from his parents.
He was treated at the scene and transferred by ambulance to UHL where he remains in serious condition. Staff at the hotel and members of the public are aiding Gardai in their investigation. A spokesperson from the hotel has said ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured boy and his family at this time.’ He has since been transferred to Temple St Children’s Hospital where his condition is being treated as critical. Several masses around the city were dedicated to the tot over the weekend.
