The Limerick crowds braved the somewhat mixed weather on Saturday at Riverfest to enjoy some of the events on the riverfront. Despite a somewhat showery start to the day, the afternoon’s promise of sunshine drew lots of admirers to the BBQ competition, the Milk Market, and some of the watersports activities.
Many Limerick families stole away from indoor activities after a long winter, to enjoy the sunshine and to have food and entertainment provided to them by the Riverfest organisers. The Event in Arthurs Quay park drew plenty of spectators on Day 1.

Meanwhile in Plassey at the University of Limerick , the Great Limerick Run, happening on Sunday, drew an even larger crowd as the Kids Run took place and Adult runners picked up race numbers before the Marathon, Half Marathon and Six Mile Events.
