The long awaited Limerick Privilege Card was unveiled at Limerick Volunteer Centre’s conference on Friday November 6th in Thomond Park. Mayor Liam Galvin was on hand with Volunteer Centre Manager Paul Moriarty to unveil the card which will offer discounts to volunteers around the city and county. It is sponsored by Limerick City and County Council, Limerick’s Live 95fm and The Limerick Leader
The conference itself was the 2nd Annual gathering of volunteer organisations and brought over 150 people from 67 organisations in Limerick together. The aim was to discuss diverse topics such as the Charity Regulator and seeking CSR funding and partners, as well as to gain an understanding of how to better organise and manage volunteer programmes. Speakers included Nina Arwitz, CEO of Volunteer Ireland and Conn Murray , CEO of Limerick City and County Council among others.
The full list of participating stores will be launched in a few weeks so it’s not too late to get involved. Just contact the volunteer centre to include your company in the volunteer card programme.
