The university of Limerick will be at the centre of over 500 jobs following the announcement that The National Sports Business Cluster will be located there. As a unique new type of sports business centre the new business cluster will aim to create at least 570 jobs in Limerick. This has been described as a conservative estimate of the potential job creation. .
All sports facilities at the University of Limerick’s, the Limerick Institute of Technology’s Sportslab and the Strength and Conditioning centre in Thurles, Tipperary, will be used as part of the project. The city’s elite sports campus in UL and the international reputation it has gained is central to the new cluster location .
